The Town of Newmarket Recreation and Culture Team seeks an experienced, non-manager specialist for Summer Camp 2027. You will support challenging-behaviour responses, develop visual tools, coach staff, and help deliver safe, quality programming. The position works across community camp sites.
Key Responsibilities:

Support staff addressing challenging camper behaviours
Implement behaviour management policy and techniques
Create visual schedules, token boards, and sensory tools
Visit camp sites daily and suggest service improvements
Respond to escalated concerns and behavioural emergencies
Requirements:

Related post-secondary education and progressive recreation experience
Supervisory experience in a related field
Extensive experience supporting people with disabilities
Current First Aid, CPR-C, High Five, and crisis certifications
Class G licence, reliable vehicle, and Vulnerable Sector Check
Support Newmarket summer camps through behaviour strategies, staff coaching, visual tools, and responsive service for campers and families.
