School District Painting Tradesperson

Support learning environments as a Journeyman Painter with Abbotsford School District, using painting, troubleshooting, and technical advice skills daily. The position is based in Abbotsford.
This continuing, unionized position supports interior and exterior facilities work under the Foreman—Painter. You will evaluate sites, prepare surfaces, apply paint, graphics, and wallpaper, and address painting-related problems. The work also includes service calls, estimates, training, maintenance reporting, and supply requisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical advice and training to other trades
Prepare labour, material, and completion-time estimates
Diagnose painting problems and research appropriate solutions
Participate in preventative maintenance and submit written reports
Order parts and supplies needed for work orders
Requirements:
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent education
Current British Columbia or Interprovincial Trades Qualification in Painting
At least three years of recent trades-related experience
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Use your painting trade qualification, problem-solving ability, and communication skills to support Abbotsford’s school facilities.
