Wind Operations and Maintenance Technician
TransAlta Corporation
Support wind operations and maintenance for TransAlta’s Melancthon Wind Asset, using turbine technology knowledge and disciplined safety practices.
As a Wind Technician, you will help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This full-time, salaried position is based at the Melancthon wind site in Ontario. You will work with technicians, contractors, supervisors, and regional management to deliver operational results.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive operational performance through maintenance, service, and repair work
Support Supervisor and regional Manager plant outcomes
Adhere to TransAlta and Siemens procedures, policies, and regulations
Ensure routine and preventative maintenance meets quality standards
Resolve issues collaboratively with stakeholders and support groups
Requirements:
Three to five years of wind turbine experience preferred
Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, control, and safety knowledge
Knowledge of GE wind turbine technology and plant operations
Understanding of contractor requirements, procurement, and inventory management
Valid Driver’s License and compliant required training
