Food Science Product Development Technician

Food science and hands-on testing define this Product Development Technician role at Champion Petfoods, with a hybrid schedule in Acheson or Bowling Green.
The technician supports wet, fresh, and treats development for Champion’s ORIJEN and ACANA brands. Responsibilities combine food product development, testing methodologies, analytical principles, and accurate data collection. The position also supports benchmarking, competitive evaluations, and cross-functional project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Support bench development aligned with project objectives
Procure ingredients, materials, and benchmarking samples
Support palatability testing and sample management logistics
Conduct benchmarking and competitive product evaluations
Follow safety, quality, and laboratory best practices
Requirements:
Degree or diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology
Working knowledge of food product development
Knowledge of testing methodologies and analytical methods
Ability to prepare samples for development trials
Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
Bring food science knowledge, analytical testing, and organized trial support to Champion Petfoods’ wet, fresh, and treats development.
