Extendicare Personal Care Support Worker

Provide trusted personal care at Extendicare, supporting residents’ safety, comfort, and daily needs through skilled assistance and careful observation. The work is part time.
As a Personal Support Worker, you perform selected tasks within your knowledge and skill under supervisor direction. You follow care plans, protect confidential information, and respond appropriately to concerns or medical emergencies. Your support helps residents and clients maximize abilities while receiving cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological care.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow supervisor-determined plans of care
Facilitate resident moves, transfers, and mobility support
Report safety concerns and condition changes to supervisors
Respond to resident, client, and family concerns
Elevate medical emergencies appropriately
Requirements:
Personal Support Worker or provincial equivalent certificate
Minimum 600 hours theory and practicum in Ontario or Alberta
Demonstrated personal care knowledge and skills
Organizational and time management skills
Current Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one
Use sound judgment, personal care expertise, and respectful communication while supporting vulnerable adults under Extendicare supervision.
