Carefor’s Support Worker position contributes to shelter-based and supportive living programs, including Men’s Special Care, TED, Hospice, and Merivale Housing. The work supports individuals experiencing complex physical, mental health, and substance-use-related needs. You will work under regulated health professional delegation while protecting dignity, safety, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver daily living assistance, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
Complete light housekeeping, laundry, and environmental safety tasks
Provide basic ostomy, catheter, and end-of-life care
Complete electronic charting and communicate with care teams
Follow PPE, infection prevention, and health safety practices
Requirements:

Essential Personal Support Worker or Developmental Service Worker certificate
Clear vulnerable sector police check required
Physical ability to lift, reposition, and transfer clients
Strong interpersonal and communication skills valued
Home care or community health experience valued
Use daily living assistance, safe transfers, and electronic charting skills supporting Carefor clients across specialized Ottawa programs.
