Colchester County Snow Removal Operator

Support winter road maintenance across Bible Hill, Wallace, and Londonderry as a spare Snow Removal Equipment Operator with Class III licensing.
Public Works is hiring operators for Colchester County bases in Zones 14, 15, and 16. The assignment includes two weeks of paid training, followed by 45 hours of guided plowing experience. Candidates must complete a driving assessment on a one-person truck-plow with front plow, wing, and salt controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct snow removal operations with plows, graders, and loaders
Use front plow, wing, and salt controls during assessment
Record inspections and operational information in daily logs
Complete maintenance tasks for assigned winter equipment
Perform road repairs, sign maintenance, and traffic control
Requirements:
Two years of experience or equivalent education and training
Class III licence with air brake endorsement
Ability to read and write required department records
Comfort working in varied traffic and weather conditions
Respectful approach and understanding of customer service
