Physiotherapy Assistant Elgin St Thomas

As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will work under Physiotherapist supervision while independently carrying out prescribed therapy programs. Your work supports movement, daily functioning, and activity for clients in retirement or residential settings. The schedule includes Metcalfe Gardens on Mondays and Fridays, plus Beattie Manor Tuesday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, clean, and maintain required client equipment
Participate in rehabilitation program planning
Carry out exercise programs and gait training
Assist with balance, transfers, strengthening, and prescribed modalities
Document progress and communicate client concerns promptly
Requirements:
Graduate of a recognized PTA or OTA program
One to two years of elderly population experience preferred
Effective oral and written communication abilities
Current clear Vulnerable Position Screening
Canadian CPR and First Aid completed within one year
Support safe rehabilitation through gait training, therapeutic exercises, communication, and documentation as a ParaMed Physiotherapy Assistant.
