Support municipal water systems through facility maintenance, regulatory records, and seasonal servicing across water, sewer, and stormwater operations.
Reporting to the Utilities Manager, this Utility Operator role maintains infrastructure in accordance with Alberta Environment’s Code of Practice. Duties include supporting safe drinking water, completing seasonal maintenance, assisting public works projects, and working schedules that may include evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct hydrant flushing, winterization, and line flushing
Complete sewer flushing and valve exercising
Perform hazard assessments and safety inspections
Assist infrastructure maintenance and general labour projects
Work required shifts, evenings, and weekends
Requirements:

Knowledge of S.C.A.D.A. systems
Experience operating heavy equipment and hand tools
Physical capability for various manual tasks
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Bring certified water and wastewater knowledge to seasonal maintenance, safety inspections, and municipal utility operations.
