Level 2 Network Support Technician

Keep factory networks reliable as a Level 2 IT Technician, using advanced troubleshooting, monitoring, and industrial networking expertise daily.
This network-focused position handles complex issues escalated from Level 1 support. You will diagnose hardware, software, connectivity, and plant network problems while supporting production machines, PLCs, HMIs, and scanners. The work includes VLANs, industrial Ethernet, JIRA, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and network documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess plant networks and implement uptime and speed improvements
Trace communication losses using packet captures and switch logs
Support managed switches, VLAN segmentation, and industrial Ethernet protocols
Maintain monitoring, alerting, network diagrams, and cable maps
Resolve escalated issues and document every technical fix
Requirements:
Two to four years of professional IT experience
CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certifications
Strong TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN knowledge
Experience with JIRA or similar ITSM ticketing tools
College diploma, university degree, or equivalent practical experience
