Registered Practical Nurse Resident Care

Deliver resident-focused nursing care as an AgeCare Registered Practical Nurse, collaborating with physicians and directing Personal Support Workers.
This Registered Practical Nurse works within a residence nursing department and supports residents’ changing care needs. The position communicates with physicians, Registered Nurses, external health care partners, and colleagues. It requires current Ontario registration and knowledge of relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement nursing policies and procedures on the unit
Communicate significant resident changes to physicians
Collaborate with health care team members
Provide direction to Personal Support Workers
Participate in informed shift reporting
Requirements:
Professional nursing knowledge in long-term care settings
Experience or background in geriatric or rehabilitation nursing
Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal statutes
Current Certificate of Competence from Ontario’s nursing college
Good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Use resident care expertise, regulatory knowledge, and collaborative communication to support AgeCare’s nursing team effectively.
