Nautical Program Instructor
Camosun
Teach nautical courses at Camosun College’s Interurban campus using maritime leadership experience and adult education skills. This continuing full-time vacancy also considers part-time applicants.
Continuing Education and Contract Training seeks an Instructor for its Nautical Program. The department provides training from Basic Safety through courses leading to Transport Canada Certificates of Competency. You will support learner-centered teaching, program excellence, and student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and evaluate teaching approaches and outcomes
Participate actively in a learner-centered educational environment
Promote excellence within the nautical program discipline
Use educational technology and Microsoft Office programs
Follow teaching policies, procedures, and protocols
Requirements:
Valid Canadian WKM-NC Certificate of Competency or higher
At least one year of recent adult teaching experience
At least one year of recent leadership sea experience
Simulator experience, ideally with the TRANSAS system
Approved Transport Canada teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one
