Senior Medical Laboratory Team Lead

This team lead assignment supports Medical Laboratory Assistants within PLM Microbiology, Bacteriology, under management direction. You will help maintain policy adherence, strengthen quality practices, and address workload fluctuations with laboratory supervisors or technical specialists. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and procedure-writing skills are important for this assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote policy adherence and quality improvement
Use troubleshooting skills and independent judgment
Support laboratory training and resource allocation
Write or revise Standard Operating Procedures
Investigate budget variances and recommend adjustments
Requirements:
Medical Laboratory Assistant education or NSRMLS-approved equivalent
CSMLS or CAMPLR examination or equivalent
Active NSRMLS licensure with professional liability insurance
Microbiology samples and media preparation experience
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
Combine team leadership, quality management, and communication skills while supporting safe, accountable microbiology services in Halifax.
