Long Term Care Personal Support Worker

Work in Elmira’s Long Term Care community as a Personal Support Worker focused on resident comfort, dignity, well-being, and daily care.
As part of Barnswallow Place Community, you will support residents under the direction of an Associate Director of Care. Provide bedside care, assist with personal routines, and offer cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, oral, and dental support. Encourage participation in Resident Experience Team programs and help residents access needed assistive devices.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide supervision and assistance during daily routines
Follow residents’ individual plans of care
Provide ongoing cognitive and emotional support
Offer oral and dental care support
Encourage Resident Experience Team program participation
Requirements:
Graduate from an approved Personal Support Worker program
Internationally Educated Nurses with Nursing degrees may apply
Understand procedures for administering simple treatment
Exercise tact with seniors, families, and visitors
Complete a Vulnerable Sector Check successfully
