Electrical and Building Inspector

Coordinate electrical, fire safety, and accessibility inspections across residential, commercial, and industrial facilities within the region. This permanent role offers 35 hours weekly.
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Technical Inspector II performs inspections for Government Services, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. The position supports compliance with the Public Safety Act, Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code, National Fire and Life Safety Code, and Building Accessibility Act and Regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate electrical inspections throughout the region
Perform inspections in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities
Conduct fire and life safety inspections
Complete building accessibility inspections
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, codes, and regulations
Requirements:
Technical Inspector II appointment with Government Services
Ability to coordinate regional electrical inspections
Ability to perform facility, fire, and accessibility inspections
Knowledge of the Public Safety Act and associated Regulations
Knowledge of applicable electrical, building, fire, and accessibility codes
Apply inspection expertise across electrical, fire safety, and accessibility requirements while supporting compliance throughout the region.
