Mamu Tshishkutamashutau Innu Education seeks a School Counsellor for its culturally grounded, student-centered schools. The role supports academic, social-emotional, behavioural, and career development for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students. You will collaborate with teachers, families, administration, and external agencies to strengthen student engagement and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counselling for student challenges
Complete assessments and recommend classroom learning supports
Guide course selection, graduation, career, and post-secondary planning
Respond to crises and coordinate referrals with support services
Promote attendance, conflict resolution, and school connectedness
Requirements:
Bachelor of Education from a recognized institution
Master's degree in Counselling Psychology
Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Teaching Certificate or eligibility
Experience supporting children and youth in educational settings
Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks required
