Municipal Law Enforcement Officer I
Clarington
Serve Bowmanville, Ontario, through municipal by-law enforcement, complaint investigations, and public service as a full-time Municipal Law Enforcement Officer I.
With Clarington, you will address parking, animal services, property maintenance, and routine enforcement matters. The position combines inspections, evidence gathering, file management, correspondence, court documentation, and stakeholder communication. You will promote voluntary compliance while taking enforcement action when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate parking, animal services, and property maintenance complaints
Issue Parking Infraction Notices and Provincial Offence Notices
Conduct inspections, gather evidence, and maintain enforcement records
Handle and transport domestic animals and wildlife safely
Attend court proceedings and provide required evidence
Requirements:
Two-year college diploma or equivalent education and experience
One to three years of related enforcement or investigative experience
Knowledge of municipal by-laws and applicable provincial legislation
Strong conflict resolution, communication, and report writing skills
Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence and criminal record check
