Lead Mi'kmaw language revitalization at Paqtnkek Mi'kmaw Nation through program development, community engagement, and cultural education initiatives.
Reporting to the Education Director, this coordinator develops, implements, and oversees language programs. The work connects community members, elders, educators, and stakeholders. It supports engaging environments for Mi'kmaw language learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop a comprehensive Mi'kmaw language revitalization plan
Lead language classes, workshops, and cultural events
Integrate language and culture into school curriculum
Create and distribute language learning materials
Evaluate language program effectiveness and initiatives
Requirements:

Strong understanding of Mi'kmaw culture, history, and traditions
Experience teaching languages or developing curriculum
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with diverse groups
Organizational skills managing multiple projects
Bring Mi'kmaw cultural knowledge, program leadership, and communication skills to advance language revitalization within the community.
