Asset Protection Specialist Retail

Protect The Home Depot Canada through theft prevention, fraud investigations, and safety compliance while supporting associates and customers in assigned stores.
The Asset Protection Specialist prevents financial loss from theft, fraud, and organized retail crime. This role supports safety and environmental compliance while executing internal and external theft strategies. It uses CCTV, exception reports, EAS systems, physical security checks, and surveillance to minimize loss and support store objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate internal and external theft and fraud concerns
Detain and interview apprehended shoplifting suspects lawfully
Write reports, preserve evidence, and interact with law enforcement
Validate safety and environmental compliance with company standards
Audit EAS systems and test building alarm systems
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
One-plus year retail Loss Prevention Investigator experience preferred
Security guard or private investigator license where applicable
Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office knowledge
Access to a vehicle and some travel availability
