Support student learning at Nose Creek Elementary as a temporary full-time Learning Assistant in Airdrie, using individualized plans and calm guidance.
Rocky View Schools seeks a Learning Assistant for 30 hours weekly, immediately through June 29, 2027. You will assist Kindergarten to Grade 5 students with personal, medical, behavioral, and learning supports. The position follows teacher direction and student plans while promoting belonging and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist students with individualized personal, medical, and safety needs
Implement teacher-directed strategies from student plans
Record observations supporting positive behavior strategies
Prepare individualized program materials under teacher direction
Support personal care, movement, feeding, and daily routines
Requirements:
Educational Assistant Certificate or related certificate or diploma
Preventative or de-escalating behaviour training, or willingness to certify
One year supporting students with challenging behavior is an asset
CPR or First Aid certification, or willingness to certify
Ability to perform required daily physical tasks
Bring student support, positive behavior strategies, and collaborative communication to Learning Assistant work at Nose Creek Elementary.
