Senior Financial Forecasting Officer

Shape financial forecasts, reports, and planning at MacEwan University while supporting university-wide budgets, compliance, and operational decision-making.
This Senior Budget Officer provides leadership and support to departments, schools, and faculties across the university. You will prepare complex financial analysis, monitor operating and capital budgets, and coordinate annual budget development. The position also supports workforce costing and financial systems integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed operating and capital budget analysis reports
Oversee three-year financial plan consolidation and accountability
Monitor salary, benefits, and individual position budgets
Review non-capital project financial information and forecasts
Provide costing during collective agreement negotiations
Requirements:
Advanced financial administration, costing, forecasting, and budgeting knowledge
Understanding of PSAS or IFRS compliance reporting
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
Experience with Excel, Power BI, EPM, PeopleSoft, or similar systems
Experience in complex organizational budget and forecast submissions
Bring rigorous financial analysis, reporting, systems, and forecasting skills to MacEwan University’s Budget and Resource Planning department.
