Wind Turbine Technician Melancthon
TransAlta Corporation
Maintain wind turbines on-site in Melancthon, Ontario, using electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems knowledge. TransAlta offers a full-time salaried assignment.
As a Wind Technician, you will support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Melancthon Wind Asset. The work includes maintenance, service, repair, operations planning, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with technicians, contractors, supervisors, managers, stakeholders, and support groups while following TransAlta and Siemens procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain, service, and repair wind turbine equipment
Support daily operations and maintenance plans
Identify and mitigate operational and business risks
Perform routine and preventative maintenance accurately
Document completed maintenance work correctly
Requirements:
Related certification, education, experience, or proven skills
Three to five years of wind turbine experience preferred
Knowledge of GE wind turbine technology
Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, control, and safety systems knowledge
Valid driver's license required
