Part Time Ophthalmic Assistant Eye Clinic

Support ophthalmologists and perform independent eye testing as a part time Ophthalmic Assistant at St. Joe's Hamilton's King Campus.
Working in the Eye Clinic, the Ophthalmic Assistant assists several ophthalmologists and tests clients independently. The position requires equipment competence, procedure support, vision assessment knowledge, and computer experience. It also requires willingness to learn new equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist several ophthalmologists within the Eye Clinic
Perform independent testing for clients using clinic equipment
Assist physicians with vision pressures and ocular mobility
Support minor procedures by instilling drops and removing patches
Record histories, lensometry, and colour vision information
Requirements:

Completion of a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Course
Demonstrated competence with ophthalmic testing equipment
Knowledge of vision pressures, ocular mobility, and lensometry
Demonstrated computer experience
Willingness to learn new equipment
Apply ophthalmic testing, procedure assistance, and patient assessment skills within St. Joe's Hamilton's Eye Clinic.
