Water Wastewater Utilities Operator

Operate water, wastewater, drainage, and street lighting systems as a Utilities Operator I or II with routine maintenance responsibilities. Work full time, Monday to Friday, with rotational on-call duties.
The CVRD Operations Department seeks a Utilities Operator I or II reporting to the Manager of Utility Operations and supervised by the Senior Operator. The position supports safe, efficient utility operations through system operation and maintenance. Preference goes to directly related wastewater operations experience and relevant certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate water distribution and treatment systems safely
Operate wastewater collection and treatment systems efficiently
Maintain drainage systems through routine maintenance activities
Operate and maintain street lighting systems
Participate in rotational evening and weekend on-call coverage
Requirements:
Diploma in Water/Wastewater Management from a recognized institute
Required EOCP Level certifications for the selected operator level
One, three, or five years of related experience, as applicable
Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver's licence
Level I First Aid Certificate
Bring water, wastewater, drainage, and maintenance experience to the CVRD Utilities Division as a Utilities Operator I or II.
