Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Welder
Major Drilling
Journeyperson welders can apply MIG expertise to heavy-duty equipment at Major Drilling’s in-person shop in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. The Monday-to-Friday schedule runs 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This Welder position supports Major Drilling’s operations and maintenance teams. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty equipment while performing welding operations. The work includes reading blueprints, assembling components, and meeting required weld standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding operations on heavy-duty equipment
Read specifications, blueprints, symbols, and work orders
Assemble and weld components using MIG processes
Adjust voltage and amperage settings as required
Operate tools, cranes, plasma torches, and welding equipment
Requirements:
Journeyperson Welder certification required
Red Seal certification considered an asset
Experience repairing or customizing mining equipment
Valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract
Ability to pass required screening and fit testing
Bring certified welding expertise, equipment repair experience, and careful fabrication skills to Major Drilling’s Rouyn-Noranda shop.
