Surgical Services Practical Nurse

Bring practical nursing expertise to Surgical Services at Whitehorse General Hospital, providing on-site care within scope and supporting patient comfort.
As a term full-time Licensed Practical Nurse, you will work under Clinical Care Manager or Clinical Nurse Leader supervision. The role supports treatments, procedures, care-plan implementation, and discharge planning within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Endoscopy and minor-procedure education would be considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver nursing care within established professional practices
Provide supportive and curative treatments and procedures
Help develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
Collaborate with healthcare professionals on discharge planning
Advocate for patients using assertive communication skills
Requirements:
Licensed Practical Nurse certification in Yukon Territory
Current C.P.R. certification
At least six months assigned-unit nursing experience
Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
Endoscopy and minor-procedure continuing education considered an asset
Use practical nursing knowledge, advocacy, and clinical judgment to support Surgical Services patients at Whitehorse General Hospital.
