Bilingual Patient Care Specialist

Bilingual Patient Care Specialists support patients through treatment journeys in Mississauga, using healthcare knowledge, reimbursement expertise, and empathetic communication.
At Shoppers Drug Mart, this full-time specialist serves as the main contact for patients enrolled in support programs. You will coordinate program services, communicate with physicians when applicable, and support positive patient outcomes. The work includes patient advocacy, financial assistance, prescription coordination, and adherence follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct welcome calls and obtain required patient consent
Explain program offerings, including reimbursement and self-injection training
Explore medication funding options and maintain accurate documentation
Coordinate medication delivery and confirm adherence periodically
Report adverse events and product technical complaints promptly
Requirements:
College diploma or university degree required
Two to three years in healthcare or pharmaceuticals
Experience with public and private drug reimbursement plans
Two to three years in customer service or call centres
French and English bilingualism preferred
