Remote Camp First Cook
Matrix Camps, Logistics and Aviation
Lead remote camp meal service with MATRIX using advanced HACCP practices, scratch baking, and detailed food inventory control. A rotation schedule is required.
As an experienced First Cook, you will coordinate catering independently and with the kitchen team at a remote exploration camp. You will report to the Camp Manager while preparing three daily meals, developing menus, and supporting safe operations. The position requires organization, communication, and practical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner service daily
Produce baked goods and desserts from scratch
Develop menus reflecting preferences and dietary restrictions
Implement HACCP-based Food Safety Plan records
Coach kitchen staff and provide facility orientation
Requirements:
Minimum three years as a remote camp First Cook
Ability to work a rotation schedule
Food Safe Handling and WHMIS Certificates
Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds
References and criminal record check are mandatory
