Field Service Heavy Duty Mechanic
Sandvik Mining is seeking a
Diagnose mining equipment faults across Western Canada as a Field Service Heavy Duty Mechanic focused on mechanical and electrical repairs.
Sandvik seeks a licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic for surface and underground mining equipment. The Field Service Technician troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, and commissions equipment according to defined specifications. The schedule varies, with a standard 14-14 rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect equipment and determine faults or malfunctions
Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems
Test repaired equipment for proper operational performance
Commission new equipment at customer sites
Complete technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists
Requirements:
Relevant trade certification; red seal required at many sites
At least three years of related heavy equipment experience
Read hydraulic and electrical schematics proficiently
Diagnose mechanical and electrical mining equipment issues
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
Bring heavy equipment troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning expertise to Sandvik’s customer-focused field service team across Western Canada.
