As the Exempt Captain, you will oversee safe vessel operations between Wood Islands, PE, and Caribou, NS. You are expected to guide crew members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and effective management of vessel operations. Your experience in navigating Ro-Pax vessels will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with ISM Code standards while fostering an inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct safe navigation and docking operations
• Lead the implementation of the Company’s Management System
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety training
• Report and prevent hazardous incidents effectively
• Keep training and certification records updated
Requirements:
• Master, Near Coastal Certificate of Competency
• Proven experience in confined water navigation
• Knowledge of safety and management systems
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Eligibility to work legally on Canadian vessels
