Principal Embedded Firmware Engineer
Microchip Technology Inc.
Design embedded firmware for Microchip Technology’s Datacenter Solutions, using strong C programming and debugging skills. Work with advanced SoC products supporting connected infrastructure.
As a Firmware Engineer, you will specify firmware architecture and develop products using CXL, NVMe, DDR, PCIe, and RAID technologies. The work spans pre-silicon development and post-silicon troubleshooting. You will collaborate with firmware, chip design, validation, application engineering, and customer teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Specify features and architecture for new firmware components
Design, integrate, debug, and verify embedded SoC firmware
Collaborate on pre-silicon development and post-silicon troubleshooting
Participate in design and code reviews
Write engineering documentation and customer user guides
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Eight-plus years of embedded firmware development experience
Strong C programming and embedded debugging aptitude
Knowledge of RTOS threads, scheduling, synchronization, and memory management
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Bring principal-level firmware development, C programming, and embedded debugging expertise to Microchip’s advanced Datacenter Solutions products.
