St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools invites applications for a full-time temporary Family School Liaison Worker position at
Academie Saint Andre Academy, Alberta . This position will begin
November 18, 2026 . We are looking for someone who:
Has a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to family well-being.
Builds relationships with warmth, empathy and respect.
Demonstrates excellent communication, listening and problem solving skills.
Is approachable, adaptable and able to respond thoughtfully to a variety of needs.
Works effectively as part of a collaborative school team.
Understands the importance of cultural sensitivity, confidentiality and meeting families where they are.
The successful candidate should possess a social work degree or education experience in a similar field. Skills and qualities of a strong candidate will also include: The ability to provide consultation and collaboration as a member of the school intervention team; consultation on such issues as attendance, confidentiality, mental health, behavior management and crisis intervention; the ability to provide support in order to ensure school staff are knowledgeable on a variety of topics (e.g. mental health, taruma, grief and loss, self-regulation, etc.); assist the school through program planning and implementation of various programs; a working knowledge of the Catholic faith or openness to work in a Catholic environment.
The Successful candidate’s offer of employment will be conditional upon receipt of a recent (within 6 months) Criminal Record check inclusive of vulnerable sector and a recent (within 6 months) Alberta Children’s Intervention Record Check.
