Senior Building Systems Mechanical Engineer

Design HVAC and utility systems with LAPORTE in Vancouver, BC, applying mechanical engineering expertise to complex industrial projects. Guide junior engineers and designers while supporting multidisciplinary delivery.
LAPORTE seeks a Mechanical Engineer with five-plus years of design engineering experience. You will develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for HVAC, hydronic, steam, chilled water, and compressed air systems. The work supports pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food-sector facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed plans and specifications for building mechanical systems
Develop studies and schematic designs for new systems
Survey installations and improve existing infrastructure
Estimate construction budgets for mechanical systems
Support site supervision and construction services
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Current P.Eng registration with EGBC, APEGA, or APEGS
Five-plus years of design engineering experience
Knowledge of HVAC, steam, chilled water, and compressed air
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit
Bring HVAC design, utility systems knowledge, and project coordination experience to LAPORTE’s Vancouver engineering team.
