Fire Alarm Technician

Job Description
Reporting to the supervisor, the Fire Alarm Technician performs inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency service on fire alarm systems to ensure their reliability, compliance, and proper operation.
Responsibilities include:
Inspection, service and troubleshooting of existing fire alarm systems
Performing upgrades, repairs, additions or improvements to systems following inspection
Preparation of inspection, and deficiencies reports in a timely manner
Respond to emergency calls during evenings and weekends, on a rotational basis

Success Factors
Diploma in Fire Protection Technology, Electricity or other relevant training
Experience servicing, troubleshooting, and inspecting fire alarm systems
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work independently
Working knowledge of CAN/ULC-S536 standards
Knowledge of Notifier products (an asset)
CFAA certification (an asset)
Valid driver’s license
Industry Standards & Affiliation
Viking systems are designed and installed exclusively according to NFPA standards and provincial building codes. Our team uses products that are recognized by ULC and FM Approved standards. Viking Fire Protection also meets pre-qualification requirements by several recognized organizations
