Machine Learning Researcher PhD

Advance AI/ML research at Atlassian, focusing on LLMs and Generative AI with flexibility to work remotely, from offices, or both. British Columbia co-location is preferred.
This Grad++ opportunity is for doctoral students graduating by August 2027. You will explore advanced machine learning technologies addressing complex real-world problems for Atlassian products. The work includes research, experimentation, and model development.
Key Responsibilities:

Design machine learning system and model architectures
Conduct rigorous experimentation and model evaluations
Apply AI/ML to diverse product problems
Contribute to Atlassian Intelligence features
Develop AI solutions for enterprise impact
Requirements:

Computer Science or relevant technical bachelor's degree
Full-time doctorate enrollment with August 2027 graduation
Strong foundation in AI/ML, LLMs, and optimization
Research, publishing, and large-scale model development experience
Python, PyTorch, and machine learning framework proficiency preferred
Bring doctoral research, experimentation, Python, and AI/ML expertise to Atlassian’s Machine Learning Research team.
