You will prepare applications, analyze patentability, and coordinate prosecution strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and prosecute United States and international patent applications
Draft specifications, claims, and drawings descriptions for inventions
Conduct prior art and freedom-to-operate searches
Respond to USPTO Office Actions with partners and clients
Manage docket deadlines and accurate file records
Requirements:
Registration in good standing before the USPTO
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Three to five years of patent prosecution experience
Mechanical and electrical patent drafting experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Use mechanical engineering, electrical drafting, and prosecution skills to support Barnes & Thornburg’s Raleigh intellectual property practice.
