Media Relations and Public Affairs Advisor
Ontario Hospital Association
Lead media relations and issues management for the Ontario Hospital Association in a hybrid advisory role supporting Ontario’s health system.
Reporting to the Director, Public Affairs, this advisor provides strategic communications counsel to senior leaders and members. The work combines strong writing, political acumen, government relations, and knowledge of Ontario and Canadian media landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead OHA media relations and issues management initiatives
Prepare key messages and strategic media counsel
Advise senior teams, members, government, and health stakeholders
Develop proactive media relations strategies
Support social media strategy, content, and responses
Requirements:
Degree in political science, journalism, communications, or equivalent
Four to six years of progressive public affairs experience
Experience in strategic communications and media relations
Experience dealing with national news agencies
Knowledge of legislative processes and public policy environments
Bring strategic writing, media relations, and issues management expertise to advance hospital sector priorities through the OHA.
