As a Commercial Underwriting Specialist, you will support profitable portfolio growth through new business, renewals, endorsements, and responsible authority decisions. You will develop broker relationships, market Sovereign’s value proposition, and provide creative risk solutions. The role requires expertise across Construction, Manufacturing, and Energy Contractors.
Key Responsibilities:

Underwrite and quote new business, renewals, and endorsements
Analyze risks and align decisions with corporate appetite
Develop broker relationships through meetings, presentations, and events
Negotiate coverage and rates while participating in audits
Mentor junior underwriters and handle branch referrals
Requirements:

Seven to ten years of Commercial Underwriting experience
Established broker relationships and new business experience
Expertise underwriting Construction, Manufacturing, and Energy Contractors
Strong analytical skills supporting portfolio management metrics
Chartered Insurance Professional designation considered an asset
