Senior Generative AI Application Engineer

Develop Generative AI capabilities for Manulife’s enterprise workflows in Toronto, combining Python, LLMs, RAG, and responsible AI practices.
As a Senior AI Engineer, you will build and deliver secure applications supporting business decisions and operational needs. Your work spans AI application patterns, model evaluation, guardrails, human-in-the-loop workflows, and full-stack delivery. The position is hybrid and enterprise-focused.
Key Responsibilities:
Build Generative AI features for text-heavy enterprise use cases
Develop prompt engineering, RAG, semantic search, and guardrails
Evaluate models and support human-in-the-loop workflows
Translate business and risk requirements into technical solutions
Improve application performance, monitoring, evaluation, and value tracking
Requirements:
One year of hands-on Generative and Agentic AI experience
Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and AI governance
Strong Python experience for backend or AI workflows
Seven years designing and developing full-stack applications
Experience in financial services, insurance, risk, or regulated environments
