Advanced Airway Respiratory Therapist VGH

Use advanced airway and ventilator skills as a Respiratory Therapist supporting complex adult patients at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver.
Vancouver Coastal Health’s Respiratory Therapy team provides care at VGH, a tertiary Level 1 Trauma and Transplant Centre. This Respiratory Therapist position serves patients with complex conditions including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, transplantation, multi-trauma, and burns. The work includes advanced therapies such as NAVA, EPM, ECLS, Heliox, inhaled nitric oxide, and hyperbaric therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide care for complex adult patient populations
Deliver advanced airway and ventilator management
Manage tracheostomies and applicable respiratory equipment
Assess client responses and adjust care appropriately
Plan and implement client care plans
Requirements:
Broad knowledge of respiratory care theory and practices
Ability to adjust, problem-solve, prioritize, and manage conflict
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Effective oral and written communication skills
Physical ability to perform position duties
Bring respiratory assessment, advanced airway management, and clinical problem-solving skills to complex adult care at VGH.
