Educational Assistant Special Education

Apply specialized student-support training as an Educational Assistant in a 35-hour-per-week long-term assignment. Support care, therapy, and learning programs.
The position assists students with instructional access, personal hygiene, therapeutic programs, and behavioural management. You will carry out assigned Individual Education Plans, safety programs, job training, and student supervision. Progress and behaviour data collection is also part of the work.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist students with toileting, catheterizing, and life skills
Carry out assigned therapeutic and behavioural programs
Implement Individual Education Plans and safety programs
Supervise in-school and out-of-school student activities
Monitor students during bus or taxi loading
Requirements:
Educational Assistant, Child Youth Worker, or equivalent training
Experience supporting students using relevant strategies
Knowledge of medication and physical intervention directives
Experience operating mobility and office equipment
Effective communication with families and school personnel
Use specialized training, student-care skills, and therapeutic program knowledge to support learners as an Educational Assistant.
