Licensed Practical Nurses at Arnot Health provide patient care in Elmira and surrounding communities, supporting patients under registered nurse supervision.
This caregiver role serves an assigned patient group and reports to the department director. Candidates must graduate from an approved practical nursing program. The position requires New York State or another state licensing authority registration, Basic Life Support certification within 90 days, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification for critical care units.
Key Responsibilities:
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
Provide care under registered nurse supervision and direction
Report to the assigned department director
Move, lift, and assist patients safely
Remain on feet for much of the workday
Requirements:
Graduate from a registered practical nursing program
Program registered by New York State Education or another state
Basic Life Support required within 90 days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support required in critical care units
Ability to manage physical patient care demands
Support Arnot Health patients through accountable practical nursing care, registered nurse direction, and required life support credentials.
