Restorative Care Personal Support Worker

Support restorative care through safe mobility, bathing routines, and adaptive assistance while helping residents maintain independence and meaningful choice.
As a Personal Support Worker, you will provide hands-on care guided by each resident’s plan. Your responsibilities include activities of daily living, transfers, nourishment, comfort measures, and restorative goals. You will work closely with Nursing and Restorative staff while protecting dignity and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
Encourage residents’ independence during personal care routines
Demonstrate safe transfers using lifts and mobility aids
Assist with meals, nourishment, feeding, and texture directions
Apply documented approaches supporting safety and reduced escalation
Participate in care conferences and contribute resident observations
Requirements:
Personal Support Worker certification meeting Ontario program requirements
Long-term care experience and understanding of dementia care
Gentle Persuasive Approaches training or willingness to complete
Experience using PointClickCare or similar electronic systems
Strong observation skills for changes in resident condition
Use restorative practices, safe mobility techniques, and person-centered communication to support residents’ daily care and independence.
