Palliative Response Team Registered Nurse
Vancouver Island Health Authority
Provide palliative nursing care with Island Health as a Registered Nurse on the Palliative Response Team in Parksville, BC. Rotating days off support 1500-2300 and 2300-0700 shifts.
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate, this regular full-time RN provides direct care to patients or residents. The work follows program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice. Care may occur in hospital or community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan direct nursing care for patients and residents
Provide nursing services in hospital or community settings
Follow program philosophy and competency guidelines
Apply Island Health policies and BCCNM practice standards
Continuously improve quality and safety across assigned duties
Requirements:
Registration as a practicing RN with BCCNM
Completed Palliative Response Team training or equivalent
Two years' recent palliative, hospice, or community nursing experience
Valid British Columbia Driver's License
Effective verbal and written communication abilities
Bring palliative nursing experience, professional registration, and organized patient care to Island Health's Parksville response team.
