QA Technician II Welding Inspector

Perform welding and NDT inspections onsite in Fort McMurray with Komatsu, applying CWB certification and quality standards across mining equipment work.
As a QA Technician II, you will support reliability and quality activities in a hands-on mining environment. Review engineering drawings, investigate concerns, and maintain inspection records while collaborating with operations, customers, and internal teams. This onsite position follows a 7x7 rotation with twelve-hour day and night shifts, plus up to 25% travel within Canada and the USA.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding, fabrication, and NDT inspections against applicable standards
Review drawings, specifications, and work scopes for quality requirements
Investigate concerns, identify root causes, and support corrective actions
Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records
Coordinate weld traceability, welder qualifications, and CWB compliance
Requirements:
Required CWB Welding Inspector certification
Required CGSB MT certification
Welding and NDT inspection experience in mining or heavy equipment
Strong understanding of welding codes and inspection processes
Ability to interpret drawings and prepare detailed reports
Use CWB inspection expertise, NDT knowledge, and quality documentation skills to support Komatsu operations in Fort McMurray.
