Class 3 Operating Engineer Chalk River

Operate CRL Powerhouse equipment as a Class 3 Operating Engineer at Chalk River Laboratories, using HVAC systems and safety controls onsite.
Under the Chief Operating Engineer’s supervision, this position operates and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. Duties include high-pressure steam boilers, refrigeration compressors, pumps, DDC systems, water treatment, and operating records. The role supports safe, efficient facility operations through procedures, testing, patrols, and corrective action.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate CRL Powerhouse and HVAC equipment safely
Monitor, adjust, program, and maintain DDC systems
Test controls and adjust temperature and humidity settings
Record energy use, conditions, and electronic logbooks
Patrol buildings and check sewage treatment systems
Requirements:
Grade 12 Secondary School Graduation Diploma
Ontario standardized 3rd Class Operating Engineer qualification
Valid Class G Ontario driver’s license
Knowledge of boilers, codes, standards, and CNL procedures
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance eligibility
