As a Staff Security Engineer, you will protect Shopify, its merchants, and data from cyber risks. You will build tailored solutions, lead critical incident response, and support a high-trust operating environment. The work spans endpoint, enterprise IT, and cloud security.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and ship security solutions
Defend against cyber attacks and data exfiltration
Lead incident response for critical security events
Champion cross-functional security projects
Communicate risks and recommendations clearly
Requirements:
Expertise building security detection and response software
Broad endpoint, enterprise IT, and cloud security expertise
Proven experience responding to cybersecurity incidents
Awareness of emerging threats and AI-enabled attack vectors
Proficiency in Python, Swift, GCP, and AI tools
Bring senior judgment, autonomous execution, and practical detection expertise to protect Shopify’s systems, merchants, and data.
