This Technical Development Manager guides open-source engineering for a trusted real-time operating system. The position blends deep technical contribution with leadership, covering QNX subsystem integration, cross-compilation, CI/CD workflows, and upstream collaboration. Your work helps define open-source practices within safety-critical systems serving automotive, robotics, medical devices, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive project roadmaps and define open-source engineering practices
Integrate components with graphics, networking, USB, audio, and sensors
Develop integration layers and CI/CD workflows
Document processes and advocate open-source excellence
Foster engineer growth, accountability, and technical development
Requirements:
Strong embedded systems and hardware architecture understanding
Hands-on development experience with QNX, Linux, or similar RTOS
Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
Device driver development experience
Excellent communication, leadership, and management abilities
Bring RTOS engineering, embedded architecture, device-driver, and people leadership experience to QNX’s open-source strategy.
