Custodian Facility Cleaning Ajax
The Corporation of the Town of Ajax
Facility cleaning and disinfecting define this regular Custodian position with the Town of Ajax. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.
Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, the Custodian handles housekeeping throughout an assigned Recreation and Culture facility. The work includes floor care, washroom sanitation, replenishing supplies, waste removal, entrance cleaning, and public interaction. The position also supports scheduled room setups and takedowns.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean, disinfect, sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax facility floors
Sanitize washrooms, fixtures, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces
Replenish tissue and soap supplies as needed
Empty garbage, recycling, and compost containers
Set up and take down rooms for functions
Requirements:
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience
Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting practices
Current Intermediate First Aid with CPR C/AED Certification
Valid Class G Ontario driver’s license and clear abstract
Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
Bring dependable facility housekeeping, sanitation, communication, and customer service skills to the Town of Ajax as a Custodian.
