Play Based Assistant Educator Newmarket
Upper Canada Child Care
Use play-based programming and pedagogical documentation as an Assistant Educator with Upper Canada Child Care at Newmarket’s Armitage Village PS.
This fully in-centre, casual supply position supports a before and after school program through developmentally appropriate care. Availability for split shifts and a minimum of five assigned shifts monthly is required. You will engage children, assist with meals and routines, document learning, and communicate with families. Storypark supports pedagogical documentation and program development.
Key Responsibilities:
Use Storypark to guide pedagogical documentation and development
Provide care during meals, toileting, dressing, and diapering
Identify children needing additional support
Help develop and implement individual support plans
Guide students and volunteers when needed
Requirements:
Experience with inquiry or play-based program design preferred
Experience using pedagogical documentation considered an asset
Ability to apply children’s developmental knowledge
Calm, professional conflict resolution and sound judgment
Ability to use Dayforce and Storypark
